The Tegenfeldt group's research is focused on developing and using analysis tools based on micro- and nanofluidics technologies that allow the use of ultrasmall amounts of sample and reagents. The ability to make controlled measurements at the particle and molecular scale yields unique opportunities to probe detailed sample characteristics with novel applications in particle sorting and DNA analysis as a result. Specific research topics include:
In addition to his research activities Jonas is responsible for the advanced-level course Experimental Biophysics.
Before joining the Division in 2003, Jonas worked at the Department of Physics at Princeton University where he pioneered electrodeless dielectrophoresis and nanofluidic devices for stretching DNA.
See Jonas's personal nmC@LU webpage for more details, group info, CV, and publications.
