Anders Gustafsson's research group studies the optical and electrical properties of low-dimensional semiconductor nanostructures. This is done either by spatially-resolved photoluminescence (μPL) or by techniques based on scanning electron miscroscopy, like cathodoluminescence (CL) and electron-beam-induced current (EBIC). Currently, the main interest is in structures based on nanowires. Specific research topics include studies of:

• temperature and excitation dependence of nanowire emission (μPL).
• homogeneity of the emission along single nanowires (CL).
• thickness variations in radial quantum structures  (μPL and CL).
• diffusion of carriers along nanowire cores (CL).
• depletion regions in nanowires (EBIC).

Anders is a Director of Postgraduate Studies for the Faculty of Engineering at Lund University. He is also currently the Vice Head of Division of Solid State Physics.

Anders received his B.Sc., Licentiate and Ph.D degrees at Lund University and has previously worked in Eli Kapon's group at EPFL, Lausanne in Switzerland from 1994 to 1996.
